Supporting vulnerable customers
Within the WA community, we know that there are many people who are at risk financially and who may need some extra care from us. This could be because they are older, experiencing domestic abuse or have physical or cognitive disability.
Supporting the LGBTQIA+ community
More than five years ago, a committee was formed here at P&N Bank with a focus on educating our teams and growing awareness of the challenges facing LGBTQIA+ people. This committee was tasked with developing a vision of what inclusivity should and could look like, not only for our teams, but for our rainbow customers as well.
As part of our work in this space, we've:
- Educated our teams on inclusive language and allyship to help them create safe spaces for all our customers, and introduced a dedicated eLearning module on LGBTQIA+ inclusion.
- Supported a number of dedicated community organisations through our grants program and corporate donations, including Minus18, Wear It Purple, and Rainbow Community House.
- Actively supported Wear It Purple Day, Pride Month and IDAHOBIT Day in our branches and head office.
But this is not all. By evolving our spaces and processes to be more diverse and inclusive, we can create empowering environments for our team members, for our customers and the wider WA community.
As a result of the work done so far, we recently achieved Australia Workplace Equality Index (AWEI) Bronze Accreditation. AWEI is Australia’s definitive national benchmark on LGBTQIA+ workplace inclusion, so we're proud to be on the right track with our efforts!
While we’ve come such a long way as an organisation, we know we’ve only scratched the surface and there’s still more to do. We can’t wait to see what we can achieve in the future thanks to our commitment to continued learning and support within the LGBTQIA+ space.
Support for people experiencing domestic violence or financial abuse
Family and domestic violence (FDV) and financial abuse can happen to anyone, from any background. It impacts everyday life and can cause those affected by it to live in fear.
We understand that every situation is different and know that you may need additional support from us if you experience FDV or abuse. We can help you to protect or manage your finances, strengthen your financial independence, or rebuild if needed.
If you've experienced a family or domestic violence incident, you may be eligible for a government crisis payment. See eligibility criteria.
If you're struggling financially and are worried about meeting your P&N Bank loan or credit card repayments, contact us for help as soon as possible.
