Through our Reconciliation Action Plan – Reflect, we are on a journey to create change and play an active role in reconciliation with First Nations People.

“We believe in providing an inclusive banking experience for all Western Australians – no matter who you are and what your lived experience is. We would like First Nations People to know that we’re here, we want to listen, learn, and improve their banking experience.

My utopia would be that any First Nations person going into a P&N Bank branch or calling our Contact Centre isn’t treated as an equal, but they are treated as the individual they are and that we tailor the banking experience to them and their needs.”

Kevin’s artwork story

“This artwork is an evolution from the original P&N Group Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan artwork, created in collaboration with Brenda Mau. The P&N Group RAP artwork tells the story of our cultural heritage ties to Country and family on the western and eastern sides of Australia.

The P&N Bank artwork speaks to my connection to Western Australia, with family across the state with a focus on the Goldfields, my great-nan’s Country. The artwork is a celebration of the diversity of WA, and the variety of landscapes, cultures and people. Within the design are waterways, hills, deserts and animal tracks. These represent the communities P&N Bank services, and to where the benefits of the Reconciliation Action Plan will flow.”

Our journey so far:

2020

We commemorated National Reconciliation Week and Celebrated NAIDOC Week for the first time and have continued to celebrate each year. Our teams learnt how to conduct a respectful and appropriate Acknowledgement of Country through an Acknowledge This! education session.

2021

We provided our teams with access to a Noongar language course and commenced our education pathway to educate through storytelling, panel events and Q&As. This included hosting Aboriginal speakers who discussed their experiences.

2022

We worked with local Elders, Aboriginal Land Councils and engaged our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander consultants to develop an Acknowledgement of Country guide for our teams. The guide includes the Traditional Country and phonetic spelling to assist with pronunciation.

2023

We proudly supported the Perth Wildcats NBL Indigenous Round and provided 100 young Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander basketball players the opportunity to attend the game. P&N Group won the Gerard Daniels Human Resource Management Excellence Award and donated the prize - ‘leadership and management training’ to the value of $20,000 - to Noongar Mia Mia.
