Calculate your tax. Our easy-to-use income tax calculator can tell you how much tax you should be paying on either your gross or net wages. All you need to do is tell us how much you earn each week, fortnight, month, or year – and our calculator will do the rest.
How to use our income tax calculator
Simply enter your income (or use the slider to adjust the amount) and select a frequency of weekly, fortnightly, monthly, or annually. You can also choose to input either your gross or net income – gross income being the total amount you earn before any taxes or deductions, and net income is the amount you’re paid after. Our handy income tax calculator will do the rest of the work for you, and let you know an estimate of what you could expect to pay in income tax.
Heads up, the calculation does not include the Medicare levy surcharge or any rebates and tax offsets that may lower the amount of tax that you pay.

The Australian Tax Office (ATO) collects income tax from working Australians each financial year, which runs from 1 July to 30 June the following year. The personal income tax rates that apply for an individual can be found on the ATO website.
For Australian residents you can earn a set amount of money each financial year in the tax-free threshold, and then you will be taxed progressively on income above that amount.
The tax-free threshold and tax rates can be found on the ATO website.
